The High-Performance Macromolecular Crystallography beamline (MX3) will be capable of providing high-flux, microfocus X-rays for small and weakly diffracting protein crystals. The beamline will be capable of single crystal experiments, serial crystallography, and in-tray screening and collection. MX3 will also be capable of unattended data collection, meaning all samples attached to a pre-defined experiment can go through screening and data collection without user interaction. An in-tray screening program is proposed, allowing crystallisation facilities to send user crystallisation trays to MX3. Samples will be automatically screened for diffraction, streamlining optimisation of crystallisation conditions. This will be carried out using a new browser-based app called ScreenShot.
Details about the capabilities of MX3 will be presented, and opportunities for feedback on these capabilities and systems provided.
