I am a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellow and EMBO (Non-Stipendiary) Fellow, previously an EMBL Interdisciplinary Postdoctoral (EIPOD) Fellow, at the European Bioinformatics Institute (EMBL-EBI) and the University of Cambridge. I have a passion for interdisciplinary research and have proven such potential with a strong publication track record and a set of honors, scholarships and fellowships (see below). I was initially a computer scientist, well-trained in top universities in China (Peking University and Tongji University). In the course of that training period, I developed a fascination for biology and decided to bring my computational skill to address real-world biological problems. I spent 4 years of PhD (06/2017-12.2019) and postdoc (12/2019-05/2021) at Monash University, Australia, mentored by Prof. Trevor Lithgow, FAA, on a range of topics from bacteriophage anti-CRISPR mechanisms and virion protein identification, to bacterial and fungal protein secretion apparati.
